We are a Southern True Crime podcast dedicated to sharing exclusively Southern cases and all the Spooky Thangs that lurk in the hollers, bayous, and backroads of the South. From unsolved mysteries to hauntings that will give you chills, we dive deep into the dark side of our region.
The Stabbin Stylist is hosted by Ashley and Randa, two hairstylists by trade who somehow decided that spending our free time digging into murder, mayhem, local legends, and the dark past of our area sounded like a fun hobby.
Ashley comes from a law enforcement family. Her father is retired from law enforcement, and her grandfather was an ATF agent, so crime, investigations, and the stories behind them have always been a part of her life.
Randa has always had a passion for true crime and a curiosity about the cases that stick with you long after you hear them.
The podcast really started after we worked with the Creeps and Crimes podcast to tell the story of Ashley’s brother-in-law, Marty Davis, who was murdered in Chattanooga in 1997. Digging into Marty’s case and getting the chance to tell his story put a bug in both of us. We wanted to keep digging, keep researching, and keep telling stories.... so we decided to pick up a hobby.
Apparently, our hobby is murder.
But The Stabbin Stylist has become about much more than true crime. We both have a love for the macabre, the strange, and the spooky, but we especially love the stories connected to the place we call home. We love East Tennessee and Southern Appalachia, and there is something special about discovering the dark history, forgotten crimes, old legends, haunted places, and spooky stories that happened right here in our own backyard.
We’re hairstylists by trade, but when we’re not behind the chair, we’re digging through old newspapers, researching forgotten cases, chasing down local history, and exploring the darker side of the area we love so much.
We may not be professional investigators or historians, we’re just two girls with microphones, a love of true crime, and a habit of asking, “Wait… what happened here?”
